Cooperative Kinetics

Inspired by color field paintings with the addition of embossing, these are studies in creating diverse kinetic objects within the picture plane. Being monoprints, all works are original one of a kind items but part of an ongoing series. I endeavor to produces works that are surprising, original and playful. These works question kinetics, diversity and the relationship between object parings.

These organic, biomorphic and at times anthropomorphic embossed serigraph monoprints on paper have influences stemming from Modernism, Minimalism, the Post War New York School, Ellsworth Kelly, Kenneth Nolan, Charles Hinman and others.

My working process is highly intuitive. I begin by clearing my mind of prior influences and create unique forms and unlikely alliances. I refer to this process as “Unconscious Geometry”.
